Foxit Reader GIF Conversion Heap Corruption Remote Code Execution VulnerabilityZDI-15-395: August 20th, 2015
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the conversion of GIF files into PDF format. By providing a malformed GIF, an attacker can cause heap corruption. This could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code under the context of the Reader process.
