VULNERABILITY DETAILS

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Red Lion Crimson. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the handling of CD3 files. When parsing the file, the process does not properly validate the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
