This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Visual Studio Code. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the handling of the vscode URI handler. A crafted URI can trigger execution of a system call composed from a user-supplied string. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the current user at medium integrity.
