CVE ID CVE-2022-2136
CVSS SCORE 8.8, AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
AFFECTED VENDORS Advantech
AFFECTED PRODUCTS iView
VULNERABILITY DETAILS

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of Advantech iView. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed.

The specific flaw exists within the NetworkServlet endpoint, which listens on TCP port 8080 by default. When parsing the ipaddress element of the updatePROMFile action, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to construct SQL queries. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of SYSTEM.
