Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Voltronic Power ViewPower Pro. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the getMacAddressByIP function. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of SYSTEM.
Additional Details
08/03/23 – ZDI made multiple attempts to contact the vendor across sales, support, and professional networking channels, which yielded no response from the vendor. We also contacted CISA, who was unsuccessful in receiving a response from the vendor.
