This vulnerability allows remote attackers to display misleading terminal output on affected installations of Microsoft Windows. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of filenames in the built-in dir command. By including invalid characters in a filename, an attacker can cause the display of misleading text and terminal effects. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to deceive the user into performing dangerous actions. |
