RealNetworks RealPlayer Cook Codec Initialization Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of RealNetworks RealPlayer. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within how the application parses cook-specific data used for initialization. The application will use a length in a copy without verifying it being larger than the destination buffer. Successful exploitation can lead to code execution under the context of the application.
