WatchGuard FireWare OS sigd comp_start_cb Directory Traversal Arbitrary File Creation Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of WatchGuard FireWare OS. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of signature package archives in the sigd service. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the samld user.
