(0Day) Microsoft Windows HTTP Proxy Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Microsoft Windows. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of authentication to HTTP proxy servers. By changing the proxy setting to point to a malicious server, an attacker can disclose NTLM responses in the context of the machine account. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges to resources normally protected from the user.
