Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of ABB Panel Builder 800. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the handling of the UserSettings parameter in the ABB SIMATIC_S5_3964R_Pre OPC Driver. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it as a format specifier. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
