This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on vulnerable installations of Microsoft Windows. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the AppX Deployment Service. By creating a hard link, an attacker can abuse the service to weaken the ACL of a chosen file. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges to resources normally protected from the current user or app. |
