VULNERABILITY DETAILS

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of WECON LeviStudioU. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the parsing of the bitaddr attribute of the Alarm element within UMP files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of Administrator.

This vulnerability is being disclosed publicly without a patch in accordance with the ZDI 120 day deadline.
