Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac Time-Of-Check Time-Of-Use Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute high-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the KERedirect kext. The issue results from the lack of proper locking when performing operations on an object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the kernel.
