VULNERABILITY DETAILS

This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Symantec Endpoint Protection. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the ccSvc.dll module. By invoking a method of a COM class, an attacker can launch an arbitrary executable. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of SYSTEM.
