VMware Workstation OVF NTLM Challenge Response Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Vulnerability Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Vmware Workstation. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the processing of OVF files. By manipulating the OVF file, an attacker can obtain an NTLM challenge response from the current user. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to impersonate the current user on the network.
