Microsoft Azure Defender for IoT Password Change Command Injection Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Microsoft Azure Defender for IoT. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the password change mechanism. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of root.
