(Pwn2Own) QNAP TS-464 File Upload Directory Traversal Arbitrary File Creation Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of QNAP TS-464 NAS devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the processing of file uploads. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to create or delete the content of files in the context of admin.
