(Pwn2Own) Synology BeeStation BST150-4T Command Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Vulnerability Details
This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Synology BeeStation BST150-4T devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the processing of websocket requests. When parsing the location property, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root.
