Advantech iView MenuServlet getUserPrefMenuFragment page Directory Traversal Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Vulnerability Details

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Advantech iView. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed.

The specific flaw exists within the MenuServlet endpoint, which listens on TCP port 8080 by default. When parsing the page element of the getUserPrefMenuFragment action, the process does not properly validate a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose information in the context of SYSTEM.
